Why Is Everything Annoying Me?

Sometimes we have those days where we just can't stand the people around us. Finding ourselves frustrated by all the small reoccurring nuisances that we just can't seem to ignore. That feeling of utter disgust when someone does one little thing we don't like, or when that same commercial that always gets on your nerves keeps coming on seemingly every channel you watch. We wonder why we feel like our nerves have become a bulls-eye and everyone seems to have a problem. The question that should be raised in our minds is whether or not all these things that we can't control are actually the reason we react with such disdain.

Maybe it's that one exciting moment being ruined by someone else, or you simply just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and your day became undesirable as soon as you got out of bed. For some people it's not difficult to move past these things and carry on; but for others there's no end to the pattern everything seems to be stuck in. At least, that's the mindset we adopt when we simply push things to the side. If something hurts your feelings becoming numb and deciding it doesn't hurt is never the real answer. No matter how many rugs you put over a stain the only thing that will get rid of that stain is to clean the carpet underneath those rugs. So why place the rug down in the first place, if all you're going to do is forget about it now and be reminded of it the very first time someone steps on it? There is none, yet we choose to behave as if these half baked strategies will prove effective in the long run.

To truly understand why these type of things occur we have to first look at the source of the irritation. Sometimes we forget to take the time and ask ourselves if this overwhelming frustration is truly our reaction to these singular events happening around us, or is it simply the opening wounds of something unaddressed? After you finally have an answer to this question you need to reflect on yourself once more and ask yourself if you answered from a place of certainty or denial.

When in this state of mind many people begin to form a pattern of trying to simply forget about the issue or project their attention onto something else that is less stressful. It's easy to ignore our problems until they cannot be ignored any longer. When it's time to face the consequences of this decision it is often too late to avoid them as everything seems to come crashing down around you. It then becomes a mission internally to have to fight through the day, a tedious task like trudging up a muddy hill. By forming this idea that the problem can be solved without any plausible solution is just as bad as letting it continue intentionally; as it will only grow worse and worse as time goes on.

The decision to do nothing is the equivalent to the decision to invite it into your life. Recognizing you have a problem or a weight on your shoulders is only the beginning. if you choose to ignore the problem it will simply become bigger, and if you disregard the weight it will simply become heavier. You might not notice initially as we usually don't until it blows up violently and causes a new regret and now you've created a second problem. There is nothing stopping us from neglecting ourselves, despite that we betray ourselves with the decision to stop our own healing and growth by repressing and denying our feelings with every fiber of our beings; only to obtain a false sense of security that will crumble when tested because it simply is not real security. Now let's talk about solutions. Now that we're aware that our own self neglect in the past has resulted in our frustration in the present, how can we plan for the future? Well, firstly it needs to priority to disable this type of behavior and to identify what it is beneath the surface. This part can prove difficult, as many people don't know how. It might not be a single occurrence, it could be a pattern somewhere in our lives, or even just a reflection of self disappointment. Maybe you didn't get the job you were working for, or maybe the hours aren't what you expected. Perhaps you were expecting more money left over after paying off your bills and utilities. Whatever it is needs to be identified before a proper course of action can be taken.

For those that don't know where the root of the problem lies it might be better to receive help in a reading considering the fact it isn't something you can ask those around you. We all make this mistake at one point or another, as is the unpredictability of life. Taking the time to manifest a solution is well worth the energy and whatever other resources are spent when investing on yourself and providing the support to pursue your true happiness. It's easy to blame your bad mood on the dog that won't stop barking, or the baby that won't stop crying, or whatever else is going on around you that is out of your control. What isn't easy is having the determination to utilize the things you do have control over to change your circumstances and mold your own reality as you see fit. As the creators of our own lives and experiences it is important to aspire for something better than what we have now without losing sight of everything we have to lose. Seek improvement, and then maintain it. Love and Light.
